With the 2019 year coming to a close, we look at what the top 10 golfers earned for the year and their net worth.

For much of the 2000s, Tiger Woods was the top earner in all professional sports and a distance second was Phil Mickelson but as we see a increase in prize money Woods is going to be tough to catch but Mickelson is in reach of some of these players in the top 10.

To show how much the sports has grown, at the beginning of Tiger's career, winner's cheques never crossed over $1 million USD. His win at the 2001 Maters was the first ever to cross over $1 million dollars.

In the 2018 - 2019 season only four events did not hand out a winners cheque of $1 million USD and for the 4 majors, the winner's cheque was close to or over $2 million USD.

Another case in point, when Justin Rose won the Fed Ex Cup and Tourn Championship in the 2017 - 2018 season he took home a whopping $10 million USD. In the 2018 - 2019 season when Rory McIlroy won he  took home an eye watering $15 million USD. That is an increase of $5 million in a year.

If this was not good enough, these do not include endorsement money. Woods and McIlroy pull in far more than anyone else in endorsements.
