Our Favourite Golf Balls of 2022

These are all important questions to ask yourself when choosing the right ball for you game. To help get you thinking, we are going to list a couple of our favourites, and hopefully how they could work for you.
Titleist ProV1
Titleist are widely regarded as the "#1 Ball in Golf", and rightly so, the sheer number of PGA Professionals who use either the ProV1 or ProV1x should tell you everything you need to now, however, could they be beneficial for your game? The ProV1 is constructed with a Soft Cast Urethane Elastomer Cover System, helping to give the classic soft feel off the face, as well as increased greenside spin for short game control, this specific system is the softest formula ever used in a ProV1 design. Aerodynamics are of course an essential part of any ball construction, the ProV1 uses a spherically-tiled 388 tetrahedral dimple design which has been optimised to maximise distance and consistent flight. The ProV1 is perfect for the golfer looking for low long game spin and penetrating trajectory, with very soft feel.
Srixon Z-Star
Similar to the design of the ProV1, the Srixon Z-Star is built around the principles of longer distance and extra soft feel. Srixon's FastLayer core gives you speed and great feel so you can play with confidence and big distance. A special heat treatment bakes speed into the outer portions of the core, yet leaves the centre satisfyingly soft. The current model uses a new dimple patter, with 338 deeper redesigned dimples which punch through the air for a penetrating launch. After launch the dimples generate lift, driving the ball upward and maximising glide distance during descent.
Callaway Chrome Soft X
The Callaway Chrome Soft X is another high performance ball for those seeking that extra distance and control. The Chrome Soft X is Callaway's #1 ball on worldwide tours. It is a great option for the better, faster-swinging players who was excellent spin consistency and Tour Level short game control. Key performance characteristics include high ball speeds off the tee, workable iron shots and Tour level greenside control. Key technologies used in the Chrome Soft X include the Hyper Elastic SoftFast Core for increased driver speed, as well as the Tour Aero design which gives it reliable consistency.
TaylorMade TP5x
The TaylorMade TP5x is a premium 5 layer constructed ball. The Tri-Fast Core helps to deliver maximum carry and low drag and a Dual-Spin cover that features a soft-highly durable cast urethane cover, the TP5x offers complete tee-to-green performance without sacrifice. The Speed-Layer system is comprised of four increasingly stiff layers to product more ball speed. The result is more carry distance off the tee, more control in the wind and more spin around the greens. The TP5x also features a material called HFM (High-Flex Material), delivering higher ball speeds through a greater rebound effect. HFM acts like a tightly wound spring that builds energy and rebounds quickly, generating more ball speed.
