Key Personnel

Matthew Wolfe - Golf Operations Manager

Matt has been a part of the WAGC team for over 4 years now, and a Member for over 25 years – he doesn’t even look that old! After completing his PGA traineeship at WAGC after a tidy Amateur career, Matt worked at Public courses for several years before finding his way back to WAGC.

As Golf Operations Manager, Matt looks after the Pro Shop and golf administration. When he isn’t at the club, which isn’t often, he loves to get on the water, whether it be surfing, diving, or catching a Marlin, which he will happily tell you is far better than any of his golfing achievements.

Tom Hughson

Tom Hughson has been a casual member in the WAGC  nPro-Shop since 2016. Tom joined WAGC in 2013 and has been proud to represent WAGC in various pennants sides including winning 2 pennant flags.

When not in the pro-shop, Tom can be found sharing his love for the game of golf with people with disabilities through Empower Golf Australia, a not for profit that gives the gift of golf to people of all abilities. Tom runs clinics all over Western Australia and with the help of adaptive equipment like the Paragolfer, with the mission to grow the game of golf with those that thought it may be out of reach.  Tom also has his own company called Hitting into the Light in which he shares his lived experience with mental illness and how the game of golf saved his life.

Mathew Bowra

Matthew has been playing golf since the age of 16.

He has been fortunate enough to travel around Australia and have played many great golf courses. His favourite is The Australian in NSW.

He is a mad Liverpool supporter.

Haydn Barron

Haydn Barron became a member of the WAGC Pro-Shop team in late 2012 under then Head Professional Nigel Williams and has been an enthusiastic staff member of the golf club ever since.

Haydn first joined WAGC in early 2008 as a sub-junior however never showed much interest in the game. After re-joining in 2012, Haydn received his first official Golflink handicap of 18 and has since become WA’s #1 ranked amateur & has also represented WA in the Men’s Interstate Series for a number of years- most recently as the Captain of the side.

Haydn’s most memorable moments at WAGC include: playing his first ever competition round with his Dad and long serving member Dave (and scoring a disastrous 23 points), winning the 2018 mixed
foursomes championships with his Mother, Deb, and representing the club in many years of Pennants with his step-dad and Club Captain Kevin Butcher carrying his bag.
