After winning the Waste Management Phoenix Open last weekend, Brooks snapped one of the longer dry spells in his career, capturing his first win since the WGC-FedEX St Jude Invitational back in 2019. The equipment of the World Number 12 has become a hotly discussed topic, especially considering he's an equipment free agent. When asked why he is still a free agent, Koepka responded saying "The freedom. I get to play whatever I want, whatever company might be the best. And I get to try everybody's new stuff and don't have to be tied down or locked down.".
Brooks has stayed true to his word, testing a wide range of clubs after coming back from an injury ridden 2020 season, as well as the COVID related interruptions, and has settled in to 2021 with what he believes is the best equipment for him.
Lets take a deeper look into the bag of Brooks Koepka:
Taylormade SIM2 9.5˚ (Mitsubishi Diamana D+ 70TX Shaft)
Taylormade M2 Tour HL 16.5˚ (Mitsubishi Diamana D+ 80TX Shaft)
Nike Vapor Pro 3 Iron (Fujikara Pro 95 Tour Spec Shaft)
Srixon ZX7 4-PW (True Temper Dynamic Golf Tour Issue X100 Shafts)
Titleist Vokey SM8 52˚, 56˚ and SM5 TVD 60˚ (Dynamic Gold S400 Shafts)
Scotty Cameron Tour Only T10 Select Newport 2
Its certainly a case of past, present and future for Brooks with this setup. The Nike Vapor driving iron takes him back to his Nike equipment days, as well as the Taylormade woods which he has used more recently. Another strange inclusion is the SM5 lob wedge, which was initially released back in 2014.
Brooks has also settled with the Srixon ZX7 which he chose over the like of the Taylormade, Titleist and Callaway MB Irons.
Further down in the bag is a more familiar story for Brooks, with his trusty Scotty Select Newport 2 and Titleist ProV1x.
